I’ve been pacing my office, wearing down the carpet to the bare threads, nervous about the meeting with my new digital marketing client. I want to make a perfect first impression and bring my A-game to the table. Customers are the lifeline of all businesses. And my digital agency is no different.

Every client is as important as the next.

But no two are the same. They have unique needs and objectives, making your job as challenging as ever. But as a digital agency, it’s your responsibility to deliver customizable solutions to resolve their issues.

Why does that matter so much?

Simply because there are 151,068 independent contractors in the creative marketing industry. If…

Do meta descriptions still matter in SEO?

Yes. But maybe not for the reasons you initially think of.

Because you still need meta descriptions, there are some best practices you need to follow when creating them.

We can assuredly say meta descriptions are not a crucial factor in where your content will rank in Google, but if Bing is a focus for you, they do support and give them more weight.

Regardless, we all know SEO is not just about rank.

Search engine optimization is also about:

  • Establishing authority.
  • Attracting eyeballs.
  • Engaging with a target audience via keyword-rich content.

For industry veterans, 2020 has been an “annus horribilis.”

Instead of sharing strategic insights with clients in face-to-face meetings and tactical advice with attendees at industry conferences, we’ve been limited to presenting advanced SEO concepts and techniques via Zoom.

We’ve failed to prevent a client from cutting their SEO budget at critical times this year.

And we haven’t persuaded that group of prospects that SEO services, training, or consulting still provide the best return on marketing investment (ROMI).

But, this is the time when we need to refocus our objectives before we double down on our efforts.

COVID-19 has put a damper on the current commercial landscape. 97% of marketers have observed a drastic decline in in-person marketing engagement, whether that’s store visits, sales, or trade shows. And 52% of consumers won’t go back to in-store even for grocery shopping.

With the threat of pandemic conditions continuing for the next couple of years, the easiest solution is to adapt to emerging trends as quickly as possible.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if your business could instantly be able to reach practically everyone and anyone on the planet? …

Google has shared some more details around the indexing issues around canonicalization and mobile-indexing. Google answered some of the questions I asked them when they confirmed the issue last week around when it happened and how large the issue was.

First, to summarize the issue around since September 23rd we saw some changes with Google. We actually called these changes out canonical issues within a few days of noticing the issue, Google has now confirmed the indexing bugs where pages were dropping out of the index.

Google said the issue was two-fold Google said; one with canonicalization and the other…

Imagine a scenario…

You’re at a buffet, and the table is full of sumptuous dishes. Innumerable items to eat, but you can only eat as much. There is one dish… one that everyone is craving to try. This dish is beautifully presented and has the best description of its ingredients.

So, is it a surprise why this dish attracted more attention than the other ones? No, because when you are inundated with options, you look for a distinctive feature — something that can hook you, something that can compel you to shun others and choose this option.

This analogy fits…

A study by GrowthBadger suggests that more than 5 million blogs are published each day. Do you think your blog will be noticed? Not unless the topic of your next blog post is worth reading, sharing, and remembering.

The topic you select for your blog leaves a lasting impression on the reader. If the topic is not enticing readers and they are not able to relate with it, they will not share it. The blog will be lost like many others in the digital cosmos.

Businesses who are serious about creating an impact and developing a long-haul reputation plan their…

With 3.8 billion users, social media platforms put you in front of a huge audience.

But does your audience love your content?

Because it’s one thing to be seen by them.

It’s another to get their wholehearted support.

Plus, social media platforms were created for connections, not selling.

Back in the day, there was a long-held belief that Google found PDFs impenetrable.

That myth has since been unceremoniously busted by Google in 2011 when they announced that:

“Google first started indexing PDF files in 2001 and currently has hundreds of millions of PDF files indexed.”

They even come with their own tag in SERPs to alert users that the result is PDF-based:

Today, search engines are indexing PDFs and even including them as featured snippets:
